vet science school

ecodesign was engaged by NBRS&P Architects on behalf of Sydney University to work on the Liz Kernohan Conference Centre. The Auditorium and facilities are attached to the Veterinary Science campus in rural Werombi.

Being attached to the Vet Science School our brief was to provide plantings that could be fed to native birds in the adjacent hospital. The site was located in the Cumberland Plain community & so specifically endemic native plants were required.

Integrating with the architectural concept derived from Ayers Rock roof water was directed to a Zinc chute which transferred the rain water to an ephemeral water course which flowed intermittently into a natural swale back into the landscape.

This Landscape won the 2014 AILDM National Design Award for Commercial Landscape Design under $100,000
